Fantastic old school traditional Chianti. Loads of dark red cherries with sandalwood and a lavender floral note hanging out above the glass. Perfect consistency with a great finish. Lots of acidity and just the right amount of oak. Love the earthiness on the nose and finish. Not over done just right and a great vintage. Value here. Drink now-2025.
Chianti Classico wines can range in body from medium to full-bodied depending on the winemaking techniques used and the specific producer's style. Generally, Sangiovese-based wines, such as those produced in Chianti Classico, are considered to be medium-bodied with a good balance of acidity and tannins. However, some producers may opt for a more full-bodied style by using techniques such as extended maceration and aging in oak barrels to increase the wine's richness and complexity. Ultimately, the body and style of a Chianti Classico wine will depend on the specific producer's approach and the vintage conditions.
